Khazanah Bestari Scholarship

The Khazanah Bestari Scholarship Programme was introduced in 2011 to support quality education experience to eligible students to study at renowned private secondary schools in Malaysia.

Currently, two schools that we sponsor our scholars to are:
Kolej Yayasan Saad, Melaka
Marlborough College Malaysia, Johor

KHAZANAH BESTARI – MARLBOROUGH SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME 2017
This is a full scholarship provided by Yayasan Khazanah (YK) to students who meet our criteria to continue their studies in Marlborough College Malaysia (MCM), Johor from Year 9 until Year 13 i.e. completion of IB Diploma Programme (subject to terms & conditions). Students who are selected to study in this prestige college will have to undergo the British education system where they have to sit for International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) at the end of Year 10, instead of Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM).

Students with good academic and leadership qualities will be assessed and awarded a full scholarship which covers the college fees, monthly allowances, laptop, school field trip and any extra classes needed to enhance the student’s academic level.

We invite those who are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Criteria for application are as below:

  1. Malaysian citizens who are born between 1/1/2003 - 31/8/2004. Successful candidates will join The Shell, Year 9 for August 2017 Intake.
  2. From family with Per capita Income of not more than RM3,000-00. Per capita Income is parent’s combined gross income divided by number of household (excluding children age 22 and above). For example:
    • Scenario 1
      Father’s Gross income = RM4,000
      Mother’s Gross income = RM4,000
      Total household (Parents and number of children not exceeding 21 years old only) = 4 (Mother + Father + 2 children who are 13 and 20 years old respectively)

      Per Capita Income = RM2,000-00
    • Scenario 2
      Parents have separated, applicant (student) is staying with Mother who is working

      Mother’s Gross Income = RM4,000-00
      Total household (Parents and number of children not exceeding 21 years old only) = 3 (Mother+ 2 children who are 13 and 20 years old respectively)

      Per Capita Income = RM1,334-00
    • Scenario 3
      Parents have separated, applicant (student) is staying with Father who is not working

      Father’s Gross Income = 0
      Total household (Parents and number of children not exceeding 21 years old only) = 3 (Mother+ 2 children who are 13 and 20 years old respectively)

      Per Capita Income = 0

      Note: Please furnish the supporting documents i.e. Pay Slip / EA Form / Bank Statement / Pension Letter. For those who are not working, please provide Letter of Oath as a proof.
  3. Applicants must have a consistent and outstanding academic achievement record which includes at least 5As (BM, Maths, Science, History, BI (Essay / Comprehension) in the UPSR examination.
  4. Possess strong leadership skills and active participation in extra-curricular, social or voluntary activities.
  5. Have keen interest in a broad range of cultural, social, sporting or other pursuits.
  6. Willing to follow the British curriculum and sit for IGCSE examination at the end of Year 10 instead of SPM.


Scholars will board at the school and so should be prepared to live communally within a diverse international community, made up of pupil coming from different cultures and faiths.
